Ted Sakai is the director of the Department of Public Safety, which runs the state’s prison system.  This is his second time at his post; he ran the department from 1998 to 2002 and ten years later returned to the job.

Gil Riviere is the President of Keep the North Shore Country, the organization that won a Hawaii Supreme Court decision requiring a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the Turtle Bay Resort expansion.
