Tomorrow’s date is 3/14/15.

That’s also the opening sequence of “Pi” or “?” the mathematical constant that is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. To celebrate, people are observing “Pie Day”, where groups gather to eat pies, throw pies, and geek out on the mathematical significance of the date. Though most Pie Day gatherings call for homemade submissions…the celebration is still busy for Bakers here in Hawaii.  Kathy Masunaga is the owner ofSweet Revenge, a food truck and catering service that specializes in both savory and sweet pies.

Masunaga will be selling her Pies tomorrow at the Kapiolani Community College farmers market.

And keep a look out for Pi Day parties near you.

Nick Yee’s passion for music developed at an early age, as he collected jazz and rock records pulled from dusty locations while growing up in both Southern California and Honolulu. In college he started DJing around Honolulu, playing Jazz and Bossa Nova sets at various lounges and clubs under the name dj mr.nick. He started to incorporate Downtempo, House and Breaks into his sets as his popularity grew, eventually getting DJ residences at different Chinatown locations. To this day, he is a fixture in the Honolulu underground club scene, where his live sets are famous for being able to link musical and cultural boundaries, starting mellow and building the audience into a frenzy while steering free of mainstream clichés.
