Todd Simmons is a board member of Equality Hawaii and a university administrator working with the community. Despite other past ceremonies in the past, he and his husband will get their marriage license today and will be legally wed some time in the not too far future.

Shopping Season Sales: Courtney Monahan from Paiko
Courtney Monahan manages Paiko, a small floral and plant specialty shop in Kakaako. She was once a merchandiser for the Donna Karan Company, but she moved home to Hawaii two years ago. Now she confines her work to small and the green - which she hopes will bring in the green all through the holiday season, regardless of whatever sale day name marketers dream up.
