Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Professor Emerita of history and ethnic studies at California State University-East Bay, is part of the three-day ‘Aina Forum that begins today and runs through Thursday at UH Mano’a.
Hawaii Youth Opera: Malia Kaai-Barrett
Kamehameha grad and Hawaiian lyric Soprano, Malia Kaai-Barrett is an active soloist and choral member in the Hawaii community and sings with the Hawaii Opera Theater, Royal Hawaiian Band, and Kawaiaha’o Church, Honolulu Symphony and the Oahu Choral Society. In addition to teaching the next generation of singers as general manager of the Hawaii Youth Opera Chorus, she is still studying her craft with Neva Rego and Elizabeth Grierson. Ms. Kaai will be performing in the Hawaii Opera Theatre’s production of Turandot, coming in October at the Neil Blaidsdell Concert Hall.
