Governor's Supplemental Budget Request: $85.5M

Wayne Yoshioka

Governor David Ige submitted his 2019 Supplemental Budget to the Legislature today.  He is requesting additional funding for construction projects for education, housing and improvements to correctional facilities.

“The proposed amendments for Fiscal Year 2019 increases the general fund operating budget by $85.5.  I am asking for a large increase in the Capital Improvement Budget.  The budget being presented includes $1.497 billion in CIP improvements.  Our estimate is that 14-thousand jobs will be created by this funding; of which about 55-hundred are in the construction industry directly.”

The Governor is also asking lawmakers for $16.5 million for the Tax System Modernization project.
