Following the deadly mass shooting at a Florida high school, there is a lot of attention on school safety. The number of gun incidents in Hawaii schools has actually dropped. Last year there were 21 incidents all involving air guns.

Governor David Ige held a news conference on Brigadier General Kenneth Hara’s report on the missile alert false alarm and the broader issue of emergency preparedness. Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim joined the governor and General Hara at the conference.
