P. Sainath is the 2007 recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award (often described as Asia's Nobel Prize) and of Amnesty International's inaugural Global Human Rights Journalism Prize 13 years ago. His book Everybody Loves A Good Drought won awards around the world and he continues to report on the agrarian crisis in India, especially by writing about neoliberal policies and farmer suicides.
