The Hawai`i State Legislature is celebrating First Friday today with an open invitation to view over 430 works of public art at the State Capitol. Many of Hawai`i's finest artists will be there, with entertainment provided by the Hawai`i Youth Symphony. HPR's Noe Tanigawa reports on this opportunity to enjoy artworks from the State Foundation's collection that adorn our legislators' offices. Tonight's 2nd annual "Art at the Capitol" event kicks off on the 3rd floor at 4:45 and runs until 7 pm with over 30 artists on hand and entertainment by members of the Hawai`i Youth Symphony. Over half of the legislators will be participating. Don't miss Tadashi Sato's newly refurbished mosaic, "Aquarius," the focal point of the Capitol rotunda.
