Tinfish Press, a small local publisher, supports experimental writing in the Pacific.  Their new collection of  Euro-American writing in Hawai’i should get people talking both about formal aspects of writing, and about race.  HPR’s Noe Tanigawa reports.

Hawai'i Opera Theatre Presents "Dialogues of the Carmelites"

Hawai’i Opera Theatre is preparing the Hawai’i premiere of Francis Poulenc’s “Dialogues of the Carmelites”.  Based on a true story set in the Reign of Terror after the French Revolution, this opera is known for its emotional impact.  HPR’s Noe Tanigawa reports.

Liane Carroll: British Jazz Awards 2012 Vocalist of the Year Performs on Hawai'i Island

Celebrated British artist, Liane Carroll, has won Best Vocalist and Best of Jazz Awards from the BBC in the past.   Last year, she was named 2012 Vocalist of the Year at the prestigious British Jazz Awards. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa offers this preview of her upcoming concert which will benefit the Hawai’i Performing Arts Festival on Hawai’i Island.
