Ancient Sites of O'ahu, Van James' book reissued by the Bishop Museum
ShareThisArtist, author, Van James has written simple, user-friendly guides to the ancient sites of Hawai’i Island, Maui, Moloka’i and Lana’i. Late last year, Bishop Museum Press re-issued his book, Ancient Sites of O’ahu. James' books are thoughtfully prepared, keeping in mind the sensitive nature of these sites.

Chamber Music Hawai'i presents Appalachian Spring with the Onium Ballet Project
ShareThisAaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring is one of America’s iconic pieces of music. Originally it was a ballet score designed for chamber orchestra. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa found that a new collaboration is breathing fresh life into the ballet.
Chamber Music Hawai’I presents Prokofiev, Strauss, and a new interpretation of Copland’s Appalachian Spring by the Onium Ballet Project.

Dutch Graphic Designer, Irma Boom
ShareThisDutch graphic designer, Irma Boom, creates intimate experiences in the form of books. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa found she also reflects the vibrant attitude of the Netherlands’ design culture.
Boom is currently in residence at UH Manoa through the Art Department’s Intersections Program. She will present an illustrated public lecture Wednesday February 23rd, 6pm, in the Art Auditorium.
