Young Playwrights Onstage at TAG
ShareThis
A theatre group on Oahu is helping four young playwrights stage their work this fall, and it’s recruiting people to participate.
TAG --- The Actors’ Group --- is hosting its Young Playwrights Festival starting Saturday. It’s asking teenagers in particular to audition for 11 available roles, but all ages are welcome. The six-week-long commitment includes auditions, rehearsals and performances of four plays written by high school students at Le Jardin Academy.
Their drama teacher, Robert Saint John, says the plays were written in about two months and all focus on some type of disability.
Fifteen-year-old Briana Grenert wrote “Dawn of a New Paradigm.” It’s her third play but the first to be staged.
She spends a lot of time developing her imaginary characters.
