The movement to ban shark fin soup is gaining ground this week. Hawaii outlawed the soup earlier this year, followed by California. The practice of cutting off the fins to make the soup usually kills the shark, which is left to die in the ocean. Activists say they’re now winning converts in some surprising places. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.
