Installing Warning Sirens on Private Land

ShareThisMarch 17, 2011: A proposed 'tsunami siren' bill that would require private landowners on Hawaii Island to install sirens at their own expense was pulled off yesterday's County Council agenda. The bill's author - Kohala district Council Member Pete Hoffman - agreed to delay action to give time for the Administration of Mayor Kenoi to come up with an alternate version. Stephanie Salazar reports from the Big Island on what is being done to put sirens on private resort lands.
