Forty years ago, more than 80% of the world’s canned pineapples came from Hawaii. That’s according to the state Department of Agriculture…which says pineapple production in Hawaii started to decline in 1966. While the world’s best-tasting pineapples may still come from Hawaii, scientists in Australia have developed a new variety of the fruit. HPR’s Bill Dorman has more in today’s Asia Minute.
