Before Alfred Shaheen, there were mom and pop clothing makers in Hawai’i, but he spearheaded the industry.  Shaheen became a global brand designed, printed and produced right here---remember, Elvis wore a Shaheen on the  "Blue Hawai'i" cover.  HPR’s Noe Tanigawa offers an inside tour of “HI Fashion: The Legacy of Alfred Shaheen” at the Bishop Museum.

Saturday, Nov. 17, 6-9 pm, vintage Shaheen will take the runway with contemporary designs from Andy South and Reyn Spooner in a fashion show beneath the stars at Bishop Museum.
