Hilo's Merrie Monarch Festival has been in full swing since Sunday with events throughout town. Tonight is the free ho`ike at Edith Kanaka`ole Stadium, showcasing several halau. And then the competition starts tomorrow. Sherry Bracken talked with a well known Hawaiian cultural expert to get her insights on how to best watch the Merrie Monarch.

April 25, 2011: Sanjay Gupta Addresses Radiation Fears

It's been three weeks since traces of radiation were detected in milk on the Big Island. But scientists said the amounts were so low they were no threat to human health. That view was echoed by CNN's chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta - who was recently on the Big Island as part of a training event for an upcoming triathlon. He spoke with reporter Sherry Bracken.

April 19, 2011: UH Hilo Cross Country Cuts

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is among the many state agencies needing to cut its budget. The athletic director announced Saturday he was suspending some programs. From the Big Island, Sherry Bracken tells us some people in the community were not happy.
