The State Reapportionment Commission has completed two hearings
on Hawaii Island about its proposed plans. From Hawaii Island,
Sherry Bracken tells us 26 of 27 community members who testified took
the commissioners to task over apparent violations of the state constitution.

In a little more than two months, leaders from the 21
economies of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum will gather in
Honolulu. Smaller APEC events get underway later this
month---including some on neighbor islaneds. Sherry Bracken spoke about APEC with Hawaii County Mayor Billy
Kenoi, who says the opportunities go far beyond policy discussions about
regional economies.
