ABOUT THE HOST:
Cedric Yamanaka has worked in print, radio, and as a television journalist. He is the author of In Good Company, a collection of short stories published by the University of Hawai`i Press. He is a recipient of the Helen Deutsch Fellowship for Creative Writing from Boston University, a Cades Award for Literature and a past winner of the Honolulu Magazine Fiction Contest.

Bamboo Ridge is the most well-known independent literary press in Hawai'i with a record of 30 years of publishing fiction, poetry, and plays that reflect the unique multicultural fabric of our state. Through the efforts of editors and co-founders Eric Chock and Darrell H.Y. Lum, a small staff,and countless volunteers, Bamboo Ridge has been instrumental in identifying,developing, preserving, and promoting a body of work now commonly referred to as "local literature."

Producers:
Sammie Choy is a doctoral candidate at the University of Hawai`i. Her dissertation investigates Hawai`i's locally-written theater as it reflects the unique demographics and history of the islands. Previously she earned an MFA in directing and has been an actor on the continent and in Honolulu.
Craig Howes has been a faculty member in the Department of English at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa since 1980 and is the Director of the Center for Biographical Research. He is the co-producer and principal scholar for the television documentary series Biography Hawai`i and has been active in Hawai`i's literary, drama, and arts community.
Phyllis S.K. Look has had a 20-year career in the theatre as an actor, director, teacher, and producer. She received an MFA in directing from Yale School of Drama, a National Endowment for the Arts/Theatre Communications Group Directing Fellowship, and a Po`okela Award. She is currently on the staff of UH Mānoa's Outreach College.
