Cerro Negro - Modern Flamenco Jazz
Cerro Negro presents a myriad of earthy styles including Peruvian, Balkan, Turkish karsilama,  Brazilian Bossa Novas and gypsy music, as well as classic world dance music to get the body involved. Cerro Negro will be performing throughout Hawaii including stops on the Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.  The band continues to add instruments as well to their sound and repertoire. Besides the cajon and Spanish Guitars, watch for the Irish bodhran, Turkish “cumbus” (joom boosh), and German melodica as well as electronic synth controllers for the modern dance vibe.

La Caravana

This is a group derived from Cerro Negro, comprised of two parts Flamenco, one part Brazilian Jazz, and one part crazy Turkish gypsy. Violinist Ryan Feldthouse is joining Cerro Negro in their Hawaii 2010 Waves of Change Tour. Together they will perform as La Caravana, a Global Gypsy band dedicated to the celebration of the Gypsy spirit and Gypsy music.  In addition to the guitars and percussion of Cerro Negro, Ryan Feldthouse’s violin “dances on the tables and breaks all the plates.”  Besides the Gypsy violin, Ryan will bring to La Caravana his Dumbek solos, Turkish cumbus, and songs in Rom, Turkish and Greek.
