WAILUKU -A funny thing happened to Hawaii Public Radio's KIPO signal on its way to Maui.
It got better. And it got worse.
Officially, it's not here at all.
Hawaii Public Radio listeners on Maui hear it on station KKUA, 90.7 FM. But as Oahu listeners know, there's a second program stream, KIPO.
Currently on Maui, we hear National Public Radio programming supplemented by Hawaii news and classical music. KKUA's focus is "largely cultural," explained Michael Titterton, KHPR president and general manager, by phone from Honolulu. - READ MORE
