Woman Charged in Ponzi Scheme; Hanneman Campaigns; Economic Forecast Released
Thirty-seven-year-old Jedidah Duarosan of Kula faces federal charges of bilking six Maui investors of $882,000. She pleaded not guilty yesterday. Ron Youngblood has that story and more from The Maui News.
Second Congressional District candidate Mufi Hanneman told The Maui News he favors waiving visa requirements for Chinese visitors to Hawaii. He said if it works for Hawaii, the waivers could be extended to the Mainland.
Ground was broken on Maui yesterday for just the kind of construction project needed to revive the island economy, according to university economists. The University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization (UHERO) released its annual forecast for the state today.
