The Windward Choral Society Builds Community Through Song
ShareThisWindward O’ahu has a legacy of choral music that many trace back to Kailua High School choir teacher, Shigeru Hotoke. Twelve thousand students passed through his classes and many toured the world with the celebrated Kailua Madrigals. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa found that now the Windward Choral Society is building community again through song.
Windward Choral Society rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7 - 9 PM and all are welcome to join. Check www.thewindwardchoralsociety.org for information.

The group will join six other O’ahu community choruses at the Honolulu Chorale’s Choral Music Festival on Saturday, March 19th, 7pm at Harris United Methodist Church. The evening’s music is free and open to the public.
Remember that Maya Angelou quote: “A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” And Rabindranath Tagore said,
"God respects me when I work; but God loves me when I sing."
