This weekend alternative rockers Switchfoot play the islands. The band has a decidedly spiritual side, as HPR’s Dave Lawrence found out when he got a call from their front man and guitarist Jon Foreman, who shared details of his last trip to Hawai`i.
Switchfoot play the MACC in Kahului Maui this Thursday, then hit the Hawai`i Convention Center Friday and wrap up their trip with a sold out show at Surfer The Bar Saturday on O`ahu’s North Shore. Vice Verses is their latest album. Get more on the band at their website, switchfoot.com; hear our complete interview and check out a couple of their videos below.
HPR-1 has been partially restored to O'ahu's North Shore and much of Kaua'i; we are working on an electrical problem at the Mt. Ka'ala site and once that's been resolved, repairs can be made to restore full HPR-1 signal strength. All other transmitters are operating normally.

Note on Hawaiian spellings:
In our print communications, HPR takes special care to include the ʻokina (glottal stop) and kahakō (macron) marks used in the proper spelling of Hawaiian words.
Due to compatibility issues with certain Web browsers and/or search engines, however, they may not display properly.
