Students Learn Importance of Local Farms
Leeward Community College is hosting a very special dinner tonight, “Earth to Plate.” All dishes are created by student chefs and highlight local ingredients from local farms. The benefit dinner is part of the Culinary Arts Program. This year each student was paired with an Oahu farm and created a dish based on their experience. Students learned the importance of food sustainability and gained a stronger appreciation for local ingredients.
LCC student Joshua Kainoa spent the semester working with Peterson Upland Egg Farm in Wahiawa.
