Two of Hawai’i’s premier art institutions, the Honolulu Academy of Arts and the Contemporary Museum, merged earlier this year, and their future has been entrusted to a new director. Stephan Jost, formerly head of the Shelburne Museum in Vermont, arrived in May and now that he’s had a chance to settle in, HPR’s Noe Tanigawa spoke with him about what lies ahead.
