State Lawmakers Consider Measure to Increase Foster Care Boarding Rates

The cost of living in Hawai’i has more than doubled in the last two decades.  The average price for a gallon of milk alone has doubled to more than $6.00.   But those who take care and board Hawai`i’s foster children, have not been given a single raise in more than 22 years.   As HPR’s Wayne Yoshioka reports, state lawmakers are considering a state-wide increase this session.
