Residents Say Geothermal Power Caused Health Problems
ShareThis
Geothermal power is a controversial topic for some on Hawaii Island. Last week, Hawaii County Council held a meeting on the topic in Puna, close to the site of the state's only geothermal plant. Residents talked about their experiences since the first plant opened in 1981. HPR's Sherry Bracken has more.
The Natural Energy Laboratory wants to renew its lease for geothermal exploration at the original Puna well site. The group's plans will be reviewed by the county council.
