ShareThisNative Hawaiian Groups have been battling the Army for decades in Federal Court over control of Makua Valley. That's a military training area in Leeward O`ahu. Over that same period of time, the Army has been working with other Native Hawaiians to rescue endangered species and restore native forests. HPR's Wayne Yoshioka hiked with the group to the top of the Waianae mountain range.
