Everyday life for the Hoe family is closely intertwined with their community in Waiahole Valley, windward O’ahu. Fresh from the Peace Corps in 1970, Calvin and Charlene Hoe bought the Waiahole Poi Factory and headed back to the land. Now they’re relaunching another plan from those idealistic early days.
