At StoryCorps recording booths across the country, friends and loved ones interview each other about their lives. On December 7th, 1941, Doris Nye was about one month away from her 12th birthday. Here, Doris tells her friend Matt Mattie about her memory of the attack on Pearl Harbor and what happened the next day that would change her familyís life forever

The Hawaii StoryCorps project is produced by Hawaii Public Radio with support from the Hawaii Council for Humanities.
