New Middle School Planned; 'Friends' to Sell Books in West Maui; Locomotives Return to Lahaina
How much Maui’s school population grows depends on the economy. New schools have been planned for developments that may---or may not---be built. Ron Youngblood has that story and more from The Maui News.
The Maui Friends of the Library plan to open a second store in West Maui. The friends will be selling donated books at the Wharf Cinema Center in Lahaina beginning next month.
Two pieces of Lahaina’s past have been returned in time for the annual Plantation Days celebration. Two small locomotives used to haul sugar cane until 1952 have been donated to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
