•A 33-year-old former police officer has been charged with sexual assault, kidnapping and other charges. Lewis Gamble of Paia was released after posting $250-thousand dollars bail. For The Maui News, Ron Youngblood reports.

•The Maui County Council will take its final vote next Tuesday on nominees for 21 boards and commissions. The Council's Policy Committee yesterday recommended the Council approve the nominees. Two nominations were deleted. For The Maui News, Ron Youngblood reports.
