This weekend, Lana’i will hold its Aloha Festivals celebrations, mixing its unique plantation history with the Hawaiian host culture. Napua Barrows, head of a limu restoration project on Maui, will head over to share her family’s knowledge about that once abundant resource.
On Friday, the 23rd, crafters,artisans and entertainers appear at the Lodge at Koele, 10:30am to 5:30pm.
Demonstrations, Hawaiian games, entertainment, food and crafts run from 9 to 2pm at the old Dole Administration Building on Saturday. Saturday night, the Makaha Sons will perform at the Four Seasons Manele Bay for the price of an Aloha Festivals ribbon---five dollars. Festivities continue at the Manele Bay Hotel on Sunday, 9am to 2.
