EMKE is an emerging Hawai`i teen rock act you may remember hearing about last fall, when we started keeping tabs on their journey. This weekend they celebrate the release of their debut EP, Promises & Expectations, and visited HPR's Dave Lawrence in our Atherton Studio to talk about it.
EMKE's EP release party for Promises & Expectations is this Sunday at noon at The Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki. Below hear the complete interview with the band and see a video of them performing one of the songs from the EP, Open Eyes, "unplugged" at HPR's Atherton Performing Arts Studio. Get more info on EMKE at emkehawaii.com.
HPR-1 is operating at reduced power for the North Shore and Kaua'i; the transmitter is at the factory for repair. All other transmitters are operating normally.

Note on Hawaiian spellings:
In our print communications, HPR takes special care to include the ʻokina (glottal stop) and kahakō (macron) marks used in the proper spelling of Hawaiian words.
