Ivan Neville is coming to the islands. He’s the son of music legend Aaron Neville and a vet of both The Funky Meters and Neville Brothers… His own group Dumpstaphunk is among the acts playing the Maui-only Funk Da End of Da World show at Camp Ke`anae. HPR’s Dave Lawrence spoke to him about what’s in-store.
Funk Da End Of Da World is Friday and Saturday at Camp Ke`anae on Maui. Hear the complete conversation with Ivan Neville and check out video of his group Dumpstaphunk below. Tomorrow on the show we’ll hear from The Meter’s legendary bassist, George Porter Jr., who also is on the bill.
HPR-1 has been partially restored to O'ahu's North Shore and much of Kaua'i; we are working on an electrical problem at the Mt. Ka'ala site and once that's been resolved, repairs can be made to restore full HPR-1 signal strength. All other transmitters are operating normally.

Note on Hawaiian spellings:
In our print communications, HPR takes special care to include the ʻokina (glottal stop) and kahakō (macron) marks used in the proper spelling of Hawaiian words.
