One of the most popular contemporary bands in the islands has just announced a return to Honolulu. Incubus will be playing here this summer... at Kaka`ako Waterfront Park. HPR's Dave Lawrence talked with vocalist Brandon Boyd about his longtime connection with the islands—which started when he came with his family when he was just 13.
Brandon Boyd is also using his visual art to raise awareness about plastic litter in the ocean. We’ll feature more of our conversation as we get closer to their Honolulu concert August 5th at Kaka`ako Waterfront Park. "Adolescents" is from the new Incubus album, "If Not Now, When?" due out in July. You can find more on Incubus at their site, enjoyincubus.com.
HPR-1 is operating at reduced power for the North Shore and Kaua'i; the transmitter is at the factory for repair. All other transmitters are operating normally.

Note on Hawaiian spellings:
In our print communications, HPR takes special care to include the ʻokina (glottal stop) and kahakō (macron) marks used in the proper spelling of Hawaiian words.
