Historical Society Dedicated to Hawaii's Past
ShareThis
The Hawaiian Historical Society sits on the quiet `Ewa end of Kawaiaha`o Street, attached to the Mission Houses Museum. Since 1892, it has been preserving historic materials and publishing scholarly research on Hawaiian history. Here, HPR's Noe Tanigawa visits the Society's library to track down a Pa`a Mo`olelo Distinguished Historian.
The Hawaiian Historical Society honors David Forbes, Dr. Helen Chapin, and Agnes Conrad as Pa`a Mo`olelo Distinguished Historians tonight at the U.H. Art Auditorium. The meeting begins at 7 pm, followed by an illustrated presentation by Dr. Puakea Nogelmeier entitled, "Hi`iaka: A Legacy of Literacy." The public is cordially invited to this free event.
