Hawai’i Opera Theatre’s 2011 season is off to a dramatic start with “Faust”, the tale of a deal with the Devil that many could be tempted to make. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa caught a preview with O’ahu school children on Wednesday night.
Gounod’s “Faust” is directed by HOT’s General and Artistic Director, Henry Akina, and features former musicians of the Honolulu Symphony. Sung in French, the opera opens Friday at the NBC Concert Hall. There is a Sunday matinee, and the Tuesday evening performance, February first, begins at 7pm. Check www.hawaiiopera.org
