Hawai’i People's Fund: By the People, For the People


The Hawai’i People's Fund was established in 1972 to provide grants for progressive grassroots social change.   In 40 years, a loose band of individuals has raised and distributed 1.5 million dollars or more across the state. 

John and Lucy Witeck, founders of the Hawai'i Peoples' FundHPR’s Noe Tanigawa talked with the founders of the Hawai'i People's Fund, John and Lucy Witeck,  about the origins and purpose of the organization.
