The Green Extended Interview


Local O`ahu reggae act The Green has had an impressive couple of years. In 2010, the island group dropped a debut album that sailed into the Billboard Reggae Album charts, where it remains over a year later. They supported it with multiple coast to coast mainland tours. This weekend they’re playing hometown shows in Honolulu and Kahului with reggae giants Steel Pulse and Matisyahu. Green guitarist Zion Thompson spoke to HPR's Dave Lawrence.

The Green performs Saturday at Kaka`ako Waterfront Park in Honolulu and Sunday at the MACC in Kahului, with Steel Pulse and Matisyahu. On June 11th in Honolulu the line-up is with Steel Pulse, Matisyahu, Rebelution, The Dirty Heads & The Throwdowns at Kaka’ako Beach Park Amphitheater; June 12th in Kahului is with Steel Pulse, Matisyahu, Rebelution and The Dirty Heads at the MACC.
