"The Great Kaua'i Train Robbery" Lee Cataluna's new play at Kumu Kahua

ShareThisHawai’I’s only train robbery was a daring heist, committed in February 1920 on Kaua’i. Kumu Kahua Theatre is presenting a play based on that incident and written by a relative of the accused robber. In this little known incident, Kekaha Sugar Plantation’s entire payroll was stolen after all passengers were forced off the Kaua’i Plantation Railway. All but $250 was eventually recovered. “The Great Kaua’I Train Robbery”, a fictionalized drama by Lee Cataluna, continues at Kumu Kahua Theatre through November 28th. Performances are scheduled at 8pm Thursdays through Saturdays (except Thanksgiving Day) with matinees on Sundays. Call or check www.kumukahua.org for details.
