The Great "Empty Bowl Project"

ShareThisTwo years ago, ceramic artists around O’ahu contributed handmade bowls in an international effort called the “Empty Bowl Project” . Over 700 Bowls sold in less than two hours netting nearly 12 thousand dollars for the Hawai‘i Foodbank. Now the Hawai'i Potters' Guild is at it again. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa visited Ala Wai Community Park where potters have been hard at work to support the “Empty Bowl Project.” Enjoy gourmet soup and take the bowl home this Friday, 6:30 to 8:30, at Mark’s Garage and Pauahi Street. It’s Slow Art Friday so galleries will be open and entertainment underway. All proceeds from the "Empty Bowl Project" will benefit River of Life Mission and Hawai’i Meals on Wheels. The Hawai’i Potters’Guild is also holding a bazaar and sale through March 26th at Marks’ Garage. For more on classes at Ala Wai and other community centers, check the City and County website.
