"Da Kine Space", Kumu Kahua presents Lee Tonouchi's new play
ShareThisLee Tonouchi, “Da Pidgin Guerilla,” has lobbed a new Molotov cocktail into Honolulu’s theatre scene. “Da Kine Space” is a lively romp in an unlikely setting: a contemporary art gallery. HPR’s Noe Tanigawa reports.
Prominent local artists including Solomon Enos, Cade Roster, and Ryan Higa have artworks in the production and will participate in a salon sale this Friday before the performance. The First Friday Art Gallery Opening, 6-8 at Kumu Kahua, is a one night fundraiser where drawings created live at the party will be offered for $20 each. “Da Kine Space”, directed by Jason Kanda, continues through February 13th at Kumu Kahua Theatre.
