Jan Yamane became the Acting Auditor when State Auditor Marion Higa’s retired at the end of 2012.  She has been with the Hawai‘i Office of the Auditor for 10 years and served as Ms. Higa's Deputy Auditor/General Counsel.  Before moving to the Legislative Branch, she worked in the State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA). She and a lot of folks are wondering why there is no mandate to enforce the reports of state auditor.
