One Billion Rising and shining the light of hope

Veronika Geronimo is the Executive Director at the Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Its mission is to engage communities and organizations to end domestic violence through education, advocacy and action for social justice.

Kids think the darnedest things—and can act on them
Eric Johnson is the artistic director of Honolulu Theatre for Youth, which is presenting "Call It Courage", an adaptation of the Armstrong Sperry novel.  It opens Friday and runs through March 16th.

Life, Libertarian, and the pursuit of medical happiness
Tracy Ryan is the acting chair of the Libertarian Party of Hawaii. She has been its past as vice chair, chair, and legislative liaison and was a candidate for State Senate in 1996 and Governor in 2002. Ms. Ryan also advocates for reform of Hawaii’s criminal prostitution laws and leads the Libertarian Party’s efforts to decriminalize marijuana.

When young minds get a clue—forensically
Mark Shiroma is a junior at Hawaii Baptist academy who is talking a course in forensic science.   We’ll bring him back in twenty years to see if he really did find a new career direction from the course.
