A three generation military legacy...of women.

Dr. Teresia Teaiwa is Senior Lecturer and Program Director of Pacific Studies at Victoria University of Wellington. She’s speaking today on  Fiji. Women. Soldiers.  And poetry.  It'll be at UH-Manoa Center for Hawaiian Studies from 5 to 7 pm. She'll also be giving a lecture about "The Military Cultural Complex" on Saturday, Nov 10, at Church of the Crossroads, 7 to 9 pm.

Steve Geimer is a former producer at KHON and KITV. He also became the general manager for Arturo’s Tortilla Chip and Salsa and launched twenty-one Hawaiian Style Hot Sauces. Now a consultant for the food and film industry, he is part of a group of volunteers trying to solve pet abandonment problem at the Hawaii Kai Park N’ Ride.

Tom Koppel is the author of “Mystery Islands – Discovering the Ancient Pacific.” The book launch and signing is Saturday, Nov 10, from 1 to 3 pm, in Rm 736 of the Ilikai Hotel. Tom will give a brief talk about his book at 1:30 pm.
