It’s Thursday, February 14, Valentine’s Day and day one for our newest station, KHPH! From HPR2,

It’s The Second Anniversary of The Conversation! 
Tom Blackburn has been a resident of Kona for almost 11 years, and was an avid supporter of public radio back in his native North Carolina. He and Kate Bell helped kick off the fundraising for KHPH with an initial donation for the new transmitter. Since then, he has been HPR's e eyes and ears on the ground in Kailua-Kona and this past weekend was the first to see the completed new transmitter. For all he and everyone who made KHPH possible, thank you!

Michael Jones is an Associate Researcher in Physics & Astronomy at UH Manoa and one of the coordinators of the 2013 Hawai‘i Physics Olympics.

Can you hear us, Waimea?? 
Currently serving the Waimea Community Association as Planning and Design Review Committee Chair, Mike has resided for over 40 years in North and South Kohala. Mike is Past-President/Chairman of:  the Kahilu Theatre Foundation and Guild the Hawaii County Planning Commission, the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, the North Hawaii Rotary Club and the Big Island Business Council. He is a Past-Director of the Lucy Henriques Medical Center, the Hawaii Island Economic Development Board, and the Hawaii Island Contractors Association.
