Dr. Hector Valenzuela is a Vegetable Crops Extension Specialist at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. He leads statewide educational programs and field research on small and organic farming and sustainable agriculture. Raising questions about the science behind crop biotechnology and the potential health, socioeconomic  and environmental risks, he says is part of the job.
