His research encompasses comparative capitalisms, especially the nature and logic of China’s capitalist transition. His new book project studies the implications of China’s capitalist reemergence on the global order.

He is an NRA firearms safety instructor, a competitive shooter, a collector of firearms and a Hunter Safety Instructor in WA state.
