Karl Kurtz is the director of the Trust for Representative Democracy. It’s the public outreach program of National Conference of State Legislatures. He has worked for the organization since its founding in 1975 and is coauthor of Republic on Trial: The Case for Representative Democracy and coeditor of Institutional Change in American Politics: The Case of Term Limits.
